Non-driven rollers

Non-driven rollers - the most common type of conveyor rollers

Conveyor rollers for unit material handling that are not actively driven by a drive are called non-driven rollers. Such rollers are probably the most common type of conveyor rollers in terms of numbers. They can be found wherever the movement of the conveyed goods on the rollers is realized by people or under the effect of gravity. Because of the latter characteristic, such rollers are also called "gravity rollers" or "gravity idlers".

To realize the movement of the piece goods under the effect of gravity, the conveyor sections are completely or partially inclined.

The use of rollers with special geometries, such as rollers with conical shells, enables the implementation of more complex conveyors with curved sections.

The use of human power or gravity to transport of piece goods helps to keep the design of the conveyor lines technically simple and the costs low.

We have numerous and very different types of non-driven rollers in our portfolio - from the smallest roller with an outer diameter of only Ø12 mm to rollers for particularly heavy loads with an outer diameter of over Ø219 mm at roller lengths of over 4m.

We would be pleased to offer you rollers that are optimally adapted to your application. We look forward to your inquiry!
