The 14th Expert Conference on the topic of belt conveyors and their elements took place in Essen on the 14 to 15 of March 2018.
Dipl.-Wirtsch.Ing. (FH) Marko Pfeiffer from INA – DRIVES & MECHATRONICS and Hermann Eckardt, M.Sc. from KÜPPER presented the latest developments of the “DRIVEN IDLER”. This drive concept, designed in cooperation, is based on decentralised direct drives to bring additional power to the conveyor belt. It can be retrofitted in any conveyor belt system with stations, without major conversion effort; the system’s productivity is improved by increasing the conveying speed.
The speech was attended by engineers from various industries such as process technology and mechanical engineering for the bulk goods industry, cement industry, mining, generating plants, iron and steel industry, and mineral extraction and processing.
